1. Choose the suitable nail grinder cap for your size pet

2. Get into a good and comfortable position with your dog

- Choose a position that allows you overlook the whole process whether that be in front of out pet, to the side of your pet or having them on your lap.

3. Familiarise your pet with the grinder

- Let your pet become familiar with the grinder, the noise, the shape to reduce the anxiety towards the nail trimming experience and they will be settled.

4. Gently but firmly holding your pets paw

- In doing so this allows you to have a good grip of your pets paw and reduces the risk of the grinder slipping if they pull away. Make sure to pull the hair away from the toes as it could be painful for your pet if it gets tangled, it also gives you better access to the nails themselves making them a a lot easier to trim.

5. Please the grinder against the nail for three seconds and then pull away

- If the grinder is left on the nail for a longer period of time, due to friction, a heat sensation will build up which would increased the risk of your pet being burnt therefore it is essential you only hold for three seconds then pull away.

6. Repeat step 5 until you see the circle in the nail that indicates the pets quick.

 - If the  grinding has gone too far into the quick the pets nails will be painful and bleed so stay vigilant to avoid this happening.
